The Queen's Orchard Kindle Vella Release

The Queen's Orchard Kindle Vella Release

Apologies for my absence from the blog. In all that I've had going on (online schooling my son, medical things for my daughter, parenting, life, writing, etc.), the blog has just fallen off the wayside. If you want to keep up more regularly, you can always join my author newsletter.

Today I wanted to post to let you know that I've decided to sign up for Kindle Vella. The first "episode" in The Queen's Orchard went live this week.

A few tips/tricks for Vella:

- At the moment, Kindle Vella is only for United States residents.

- You can only access Vella stories through the Kindle app or www.amazon.com/kindle-vella.

- All stories are episodic and ongoing (no complete stories in one episode).

- The first three episodes of a story are free, after that they require tokens based on word count. Tokens are purchased through Amazon, and you can get 200 free tokens immediately.

- These can be short stories or full-length stories or anything in between.

- In order to show support, you can "fave" the episode.

Right now, only the first episode is available in The Queen's Orchard, and after the first three episodes (each free), the remaining episodes will release a week after the others.

If you have read any of my Canens Chronicles stories, The Queen's Orchard is a short story that tells of Blanche's early years. Here's the blurb:

Once an orphan...made a queen.

Blanche wasn't always a queen. Once she was something far far different. But ambitious young girls don't linger in anonymity long, even in the frozen, cursed land of Canens. Blanche knows she is destined for more. And when her parents die, leaving her an orphan, she'll stop at nothing to gain control of her life—even if that means dabbling in dark magic that costs more from her than her own soul.
