“It is what you read when you don’t have to that determines what you will be when you can’t help it.”

About Kelsie

Kelsie Engen grew up in North Pole, Alaska—just down the road from Santa Claus’s house. Enduring fifty-below winters and basking in endless summer daylight, she learned early to find beauty in contrasts—a theme that now echoes through her stories of light and shadow, heartbreak and hope.

After earning degrees in Criminal Justice and Microbiology, Kelsie traded the lab for life at home with her two children, dog, and cats, where she writes during the rare quiet moments of the day. Her stories blend the timeless pull of fairy tales with the depth of emotional realism, exploring what it means to love, lose, and begin again.

She is the author of The Canens Chronicles, a sweeping fantasy series inspired by Snow White, Cinderella, Aladdin, and Sleeping Beauty, and The Austen Legacies: Relics of Aether and Ash, a darkly imaginative series inspired by the works and themes of Jane Austen—where magic, memory, and morality entwine in new worlds of wonder.

When she isn’t crafting her own stories, Kelsie helps other writers shape theirs through LSM Book Coaching, offering personalized guidance in story development, structure, and revision.

You can follow her writing journey, read her latest updates, and explore both series at KelsieEngenAuthor.com, or learn more about her coaching services at LSM Book Coaching.
